Friends of Hunsdon School

Committee

The committee for 2009-2010 was appointed at our Annual General Meeting held in October 2009.  We may also co-opt additional committee members; if you would like to join us please get in touch.

Vanessa Povey, Chairman

I am a busy childminder with three daughters of my own — I’m affectionately known as the Pied Piper of Hunsdon. I also volunteer on the Ducklings Pre-school committee, but somehow always manage to fit in more.

Karen Osterley, Vice Chairman & Webmaster

Lorna Hornett, Secretary (Admin)

Most of the children at school know me as I have helped at school as a lunchtime assistant.  I also volunteered as Camp Cook (with Liz) at the Hunsdon Cubs Activity Camp last summer where I was kept on my toes cooking for lots of hungry people.

 Liz Perry

I am a mother of two boys and work as a part-time funeral arranger and volunteer bereavement counsellor—I sound like a barrel of laughs don’t I?

Emma Juniper

Lucy Childs, Treasurer

Kate Ellis, Secretary (Minutes)

I am a full time mother of two children, both at Hunsdon School.  Previously I worked in HR for many years, most recently for the Police Service.  When I am not driving my “mum’s taxi” to various dancing and sporting activities, I like to knit and stitch tapestries.

I work as Product Information Manager at a large educational publishing company which means I handle data and systems all day long.  I have two grown up stepdaughters, one son at Richard Hale School and one currently in Year 3 at Hunsdon.  Lots of the children will also know me through Hunsdon Tigers Cubs Pack where I volunteer as Akela, Cub Scout Leader.

Emma Felstead

I am a mum of four, three of whom attend Hunsdon JMI and one is at Chauncy School.   I look after the website for Great Amwell and District Cats Protection Leader.  I have also helped out at Ducklings.

Emma Gibson

I am a Mother of 2 boys, one at Hunsdon JMI and one at Widford School. I work as a part-time Product Information Administrator at a large educational publishing company.

Sarah Harris

I am originally from North London but having lived in Hunsdon for 7 years have been converted to village life.  I have two children a boy of  3 and  girl of 7 and I spend all my time looking after them !! By joining Friends I wish to contribute in some way to the school in order to benefit the children.

I am a mother of two girls, both in Hunsdon school.  I work part-time as a hairdresser, and I also sell wooden toys via a catalogue—to keep me in touch with the adult world.  In the mornings I work at the Breakfast Club, supervising the children and helping them to a healthy breakfast.
